These anytime essentials contain just two things: organic hemp extract and organic virgin coconut oil. RE Botanicals uses only USDA-certified organic hemp CBD oil, which it sources from U.S.-grown hemp using an ethanol extraction method. That hemp oil is blended with organic virgin coconut oil and packed in a plant-based capsule. Each vegan capsule delivers 15mg of CBD and other full-spectrum cannabinoids per serving.

About this brand

RE Botanicals founder John W. Roulac has a long career of advocating for sustainable, responsible agriculture and production methods. He began in 1999 as the founder of NUTIVA, an eco-minded manufacturer whose inaugural line of hemp bars has since expanded to a wide variety of superfoods like coconut oil and chia seeds. That start in hemp (the name “NUTIVA” is a combination of “nut” and “cannabis sativa”) eventually came full circle in 2018 when he launched RE Botanicals: The Pure Organic Hemp Apothecary™.

The company sells a range of tinctures, topicals, and pet-friendly products containing hemp CBD that uses a traditional alcohol extraction method. Born out of a commitment to “renew, regrow, regenerate,” RE Botanicals focuses on organic, regenerative agricultural practices. Its products do not contain solvents, pesticides, or GMOs and are certified free of glyphosate, the foundational chemical herbicide in Monsanto’s Roundup. RE Botanical’s mission is perpetuated by donating 1% of sales to directly support regenerative agricultural practices.

Understanding hemp-derived CBD

We never want you to feel lost or confused when shopping for CBD. Use this cheat-sheet to quickly learn more, or visit our CBD FAQs for in-depth information.

What is CBD?

CBD is a cannabinoid derived from the hemp plant. It’s a non-intoxicating substance that can vary in strength and smell.

CBD Types

Full spectrum

Full spectrum is the least processed form of CBD, containing additional cannabinoids, terpenes, and essential oils. Many consumers seek out these additional compounds through their CBD products. Full spectrum CBD contains 0.3% or less of THC by weight per serving, considered a non-intoxicating amount.

Broad spectrum

Broad spectrum includes additional cannabinoids and terpenes, but doesn’t contain any THC.

Isolate is the most processed form of CBD and has no additional compounds or THC.

Strengths and effects

Strength, or potency, refers to the amount of CBD per serving. 35mg or more per serving is considered stronger, while anything below is light to medium. CBD affects everyone differently and it may take some trial and error to find what strength works best for you.

Cannabinoid refers to any compound synthesized within the hemp plant like CBD, CBG, and beyond. Scientists have identified dozens of different cannabinoids to date. These additional compounds have several potential reported effects, like helping with moods, relief, and relaxation.

Terpenes are aromatic oils found in the hemp plant with distinctive flavors like citrus, berry, mint, and pine. Different flavors promote different effects like relaxation or focus.
